Premiere of “Guilty Until Proven Guilty”
Ahead of the November vote on unanimous juries, the premiere of “Guilty Until Proven Guilty,” follows the story of Tim Conerly, who was arrested for a 2014 armed robbery in the French Quarter. The premiere is also apart of the ongoing New Orleans Film Festival. The film’s website says the movie takes into account factors like “non-unanimous jury verdicts, “show up” eyewitness identification, material witness warrants, “multiple bill” adjudication, an aggressive District Attorney and an overburdened Public Defender’s office.” A panel discussion about the film will follow the 53-minute screening.
