Could A Sex Robot Brothel Work In New Orleans?

It’s a nod to the past in something incredibly futuristic.

The first sex robot brothel in the United States will open in the near future in Houston. And given the image of New Orleans, the city’s need to grab up every last tourist dollar and the unique history of the city’s seedier districts (from Bourbon Street to the former Storyville), we figure it’s only a matter of time before one of these operations pops up in the city.

Kinky S Dolls is opening its first stateside franchise after successfully operating in Toronto. The brother offers anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours with its robotic sex dolls. While the dolls that are available to rent will react to voice and touch, higher end dolls with artificial intelligence that can hold conversations are only available for sale from the shop and start at $10,000.

“We will allow you to fulfill all your fantasies without any limitations. We feel just like the real thing,” the website reads, in a statement written from the point of view of the dolls.  “We always fresh for you we get sanitized with Antibacterial Products after every session.”

The service is entirely legal in the United States, as the dolls are not living people and therefore prostitution statutes do not apply to them. Given New Orleans love for the gray area (how many bars have you seen with video slots in them?) and it’s reputation as a place to let loose in ways that aren’t allowed in other parts of the world, we imagine that a NOLA outpost could be coming in the very near future.

“The States is a bigger market, and a healthier market, and God bless Trump,” owner Yuval Gavriel told the Washington Examiner, noting the lack of regulation around his business.

We reached out to Kinky S Dolls to ask if they think that New Orleans would be a good fit for their business and we will update this story when we hear back.
