Election Day: Where you need to go, what you need to bring

Mid-term elections are upon us, here’s what you need to know.

Mid-term elections are here! Here’s what you need to know when you head to the polls today:

  • Polls are open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m.
  • You’ll need your driver’s license, valid state ID or some other generally recognized picture ID that has your name and signature. People without a photo ID may bring a utility bill, payroll check or government document that includes their name and address but they will have to sign an affidavit by the Elections Division in order to vote.
  • You can find your polling local by calling the Orleans Parish Registrar of Voters at (504) 658-8300 or by clicking here to use the Louisiana polling locator. First, search by name, parish, address then select “voting information” at the top tool bar, and lastly selecting “Polling Locations” in the left menu.
