With strong support from the business community including sponsorship and corporate teams, the events raise funds for research, advocacy, programs and education. Participants register and recruit friends, family and co-workers to join them or to ask for support with fundraising. Event day is a party to celebrate the fundraising accomplishments of the teams and individual participants as well as an opportunity to promote awareness about diabetes and the American Diabetes Association.
