The Inaugural Liberty Road Challenge is a unique opportunity to honor D-Day and the route our Allied forces' marched to achieve the Liberation of France. Participants have a choice to complete the virtual course individually or with a team and whether they want to walk, jog, run, or even bike! Registration for both INDIVIDUAL and TEAM VIRTUAL CHALLENGES is $50.00 and is open until Independence Day - July 4, 2020. INDIVIDUAL VIRTUAL CHALLENGE - Participants have until September 10th to complete one of the virtual Liberty Road Challenges: 1. 100 miles from Saint-Mere-Eglise in the Normandy region of France to St. Malo in the Brittany region of France (100 miles/161 km). 2. 712 miles Challenge which continues on to Bastogne, Belgium which was liberated on September 10, 1944 and held strong during the Battle of Bulge (712 miles/1147 km).You can walk, jog, run, or bike to complete the course! TEAM VIRTUAL CHALLENGE - Teams have until September 10th to complete the virtual Liberty Road Challenge from Sainte-Mère-Église in the Normandy region of France to Bastogne, Belgium, liberated on September 10, 1944 and held strong during the Battle of the Bulge (712 miles/1147 km). You can walk, jog, run, or bike to complete the course! How it works: Step 1: Register as an individual or start a team in honor of the WWII generation starting June 6th, 2020 Step 2: Track your progress by logging your daily mileage and activity (walk/run/bike). * Step 3: Complete the challenge and receive your finishers National WWII Museum dog tag and exclusive 2020 Liberty Road t-shirt, along with 25% off admission into The National World War II Museum (good through September 10, 2021)! *Please note - Live Map Tracking starts July 4th. You may start your activity earlier, but official logging of miles will not start until July 4th. Plus, all participants that complete either challenges will be entered in a chance to win a two night stay at the Higgins Hotel New Orleans with free entry into the Museum!* *Good through September 10, 2021.
