On Monday, September 17th, WRBH Reading Radio for the Blind will be hosting A Blind Taste at La Petite Grocery. Guests will wear blindfolds during dinner, heightening the sense of taste and one's ability to discover the unique flavors of the event's five-course dinner with wine pairings created by James Beard Award-winning Chef Justin Devillier. Our hope is that diners will gain awareness of some of the challenges that our listeners experience on a daily basis. In addition to the dinner, we are adding an online-only silent auction this year to run the two weeks prior to the dinner. Proceeds from A Blind Taste and the silent auction will be used to support programming on WRBH, which is the only reading radio service to operate on the FM dial in the United States. For 36 years, WRBH has been translating the printed word into spoken word so that the blind and print impaired can receive the same ease of access to current information as their sighted peers. WRBH also provides content that is of interest to the general public, such as local news, best-selling literature and programs encouraging cultural, educational, and emotional enrichment. As a constant source of literature and information, WRBH is a unique and invaluable asset to the entire New Orleans community. WRBH has developed several sponsorship levels for A Blind Taste and I am requesting that you please consider becoming a sponsor at the financial level that is best for you. In addition to reserved seating at the dinner, sponsors will be thanked on the air, in all printed materials, on our website ( www.wrbh.org ), and on the event sponsor board. WRBH is a 501(c)3 non-profit, and all donations are tax deductible. I have enclosed a Sponsor Reservation Form with details on the various sponsorship levels and their benefits. Sponsors who participate at the $1,000 level or higher will also be invited to our Patron Party with complimentary champagne and live music an hour before dinner. If you would like to attend the event, become a sponsor or need additional information, please call (504) 899-1144 or email our Development Director, Amy Collins, at amy@wrbh.org.
