On Saturday, February 13, 2021, at 7:30 pm CST, Adonis Rose and the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra’s NOJO 7 will present a live-streamed Mardi Gras performance from the New Orleans Jazz Market. While the virtual show will not replace an in-person audience or the hysteria surrounding the city’s legendary Mardi Gras festivities, it will be a welcome reunion of sorts for the musicians, who have not played in the venue for months since its closure last March due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The various musicians have remained as busy as possible, and collectively the group led an outdoor tribute to the city’s heroic first-line workers last fall. The show was made possible by a generous donation from a New York-based donor. However, outside of this, the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra and the many bands and musicians across the country have seen their way of life grind to a halt. And with it, most live music has stopped playing. For this reason, when the group was approached by their booking agent, Michael Morris from Mint Talent Group, with the opportunity to host an online virtual performance for Mardis Gras, they jumped at the chance. The show will be their first with one of the leading live-stream concert platforms, Mandolin, and the band’s Artist Director, Adonis Rose, has been working to finalize their musical program and spread the word far and wide. Rose states, “I’m excited about the opportunity to showcase NOJO 7 for Mardi Gras on Mandolin. This partnership makes it possible to expand our audience and share our music with the world.” Featured musicians: Adonis Ross - Artistic Director, Drums James Williams - Trumpet Ricardo Pascal - Tenor Terrance Taplin - Trombone Ryan Hanseler - Piano Amina Scott - Bass Gabrielle Cavassa - Vocals To purchase tickets to their Mardi Gras performance visit: https://boxoffice.mandolin.com/collections/new-orleans-jazz-orchestra New Orleans Jazz Orchestra website: https://www.thenojo.com For more information contact: info@are-group.net
