Amiel Feminist Speaker at Touro

Touro Synagogue
Getting there
4238 St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA

Join the Jewish Federation and Touro Synagogue to hear from and learn with Israeli women’s rights activist Sagit Peretz Deri.
Her discussion will focus on lessons from her work promoting greater inclusion of women and minorities in traditional Jewish settings in Israel, as well as observations about the similarities between religious minorities in Israel and minority groups in the United States.
Deri comes to New Orleans as part of Amiel BaKehila, a program sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans that brings artists and activists from Israel to New Orleans to provide members of the local Jewish community with opportunities to engage with Israelis who share similar interests and passions.
