After a tour of "The Whole Drum Will Sound: Women in Southern Abstraction," artist and educator Shawn Hall will guide participants through self-exploration of ideas and approaches to abstract painting. Abstract painting is grounded in conceptual thinking, self-determined parameters, decision making and risk taking. It occupies the liminal space between thought and action, i.e. intuition, and requires deft paint handling, trust and vision. Working with acrylics on canvas, this workshop will give participants a window into the world of abstraction. Registration link to come.
