Throughout the exhibition Buddha and Shiva, Lotus and Dragon: Masterworks from the Mr. and Mrs. John D. Rockefeller 3rd Collection at Asia Society, artists influenced by Asian art will offer their perspective on the objects on view. Louisiana residents receive free admission to NOMA on Wednesdays courtesy of The Helis Foundation. Sheleen Jones is a bronze sculptor and a professor at Xavier University in New Orleans. She began her study of the arts during her second year at Xavier. Jones began her artistic practice under the tutelage of such artists as Charles Graves, Lloyd Bennet, and John Scott. She credits Scott with encouraging her to pursue art with an open mind, a level of objectivity, and a hunger for learning.
