Bayou Bonefest 2018 is an event to bring The Swamp (a metaphysical community) to life, keeping to the tradition of Bazah (to celebrate). It is an opportunity to come together in person, share knowledge and celebrate. What started out as a simple idea has now grown into a tribe of over 5000 members. We are real people, from a variety of beliefs and paths, coming together to share and be "One Tribe". This Year we have tons of fun planned: Friday 6/22 @ 7 PM - Everyone is welcome to stroll on over to one of the most laid-back bars in New Orleans, The Dragons Den. This little meet and greet will give you the opportunity to spend some quality time with extended family and those that have helped make Bayou Bonefest a reality. Release your inner pirate and have a shot of rum with Mr. Kelly and Miss Sha! Be sure to chat with Papa Gilly and add a candle to our Swamp Family setting of lights. Or, if you prefer the dark and mysterious - have a candlelit drink with Doktor Crow himself! We will have live music and games. Oh, and be sure to grab your Bayou Bonefest Collector's Cup and SWAG bag - exclusively for those attending the Friday night event. Saturday 6/23 - For those early risers, we will meet up for a swamp tour. Cajun Encounters Tour Company is taking us all on a boat ride to see alligators and other wildlife in the swamps near New Orleans. Then at 1 PM the Doors to The Maison on Frenchmen open for classes and vendors. We will spend the afternoon upstairs in a classroom style setting, but with a cash bar available. We are offering both lecture style and hands-on classes this year to give each of you greater insight of how to be in charge of your future. There will be snacks available all day, but if you get hungry there are great restaurants close by. Ask one of our hosts for a recommendation. Sunday 6/24 - Again, those wishing to get up early can participate with a French Quarter Cemetery Tour. We will take a stroll and learn about the unique and fascinating history of one of the oldest cities in the country and learn the who's who and where they are resting today. Then at 1 PM the Doors to The Maison on Frenchmen will open again for classes and vendors. Same upstairs location. More lecture style and hands on classes. There will be snacks available all day, but if you get hungry there are great restaurants close by. Ask one of our hosts for a recommendation. But wait… Who doesn't want to go to a Masquerade Ball while in New Orleans? Classes will end at 5 PM on Sunday so you can run off to your room and put yourself together for the Swamp Witch's Masquerade Ball. Come as you wish, for a celebration to be remembered. We will have a Best Dressed competition, along with drinks, music - all geared to ending this fantastic weekend on the highest note possible. This event will be hosted by the one and only, Miss Bearykah Badu. There are two great ways to purchase your tickets for Bayou Bonefest: 1. A full package to all events for the 3 days 2. A build your own weekend package so you can attend only those activities you are interested in
