The New Orleans City Park’s Big Bass Rodeo & Fishtival includes a boating division, Boats on the Bayou. This division allows you to fish from kayaks, canoes or other non-motorized vessels in Bayou St. John. The rules and regulations and fishing times from the traditional Big Bass Rodeo are different for Boats on the Bayou. Pre-registration is open from February 10th to 5:00pm on Thursday, March 26th. Courtesy of Massey’s Outfitters, a kayak will be given away via raffle to one lucky Boats on the Bayou registrant. All registrant names will be placed in a basket and the drawing will be held during the Awards Ceremony on Saturday, March 28. WINNER MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN! If you don’t own a fishing kayak but are still interested in participating, then we have you covered! Massey’s is allowing 8 lucky participants to rent a fishing kayak for free to use during the tournament. Select the Massey’s rental option on the registration link if you’re interested in this option.
