Celebrate the 32nd Anniversary of America’s Most Dazzling Holiday Light Festival WHAT: With more than a million dazzling lights and breathtaking displays, Celebration in the Oaks in New Orleans City Park is an annual holiday tradition for families in the Crescent City and across the country. Friends and families can kick off the 32nd annual opening with an early glimpse of the stunning holiday displays at one of three Celebration in the Oaks preview parties. Tickets for all events are on sale now at CelebrationInTheOaks.com. City Park’s famous oaks are swathed in hundreds of thousands twinkling lights, with breathtaking light exhibits that are displayed throughout 25 acres of the Park. While there are many traditional displays like the Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, Mr. Bingle, and the Cajun Night before Christmas, there are many new wonders this year including “Merry Kiss-mas” and a Tree of Hope. From the train route, visitors may also view the new additions to the New Orleans themed display and continue to celebrate the city’s 300th birthday viewing the “NOLA 300” sculpture placed on Lelong Drive near Big Lake. New for the 2018 Season: -Parker’s Station Reservation: a reservation system for the holiday train. Guests may upgrade their train ticket to purchase a reservation time to board the train. Guest using the Parker’s Station Reservation will not have to wait in the general admission line and can instead get a time to return and spend the time they would normally wait enjoying other parts of the event and return to the Parker’s Station Reservation line to board. - A special partnership with WVUE FOX 8: A live FOX 8 morning show from Celebration in the Oaks with an extra hour of fun this year: Nov. 30th from 5 am to 10 am. WVUE FOX 8 is the official media partner for Celebration in the Oaks. - A partnership with Hilton hotels of New Orleans: General Managers from area Hilton branded properties will judge the Christmas trees on Santa Claus Lane and award a $3000 cash prize to the winner.
