Link: With Hurricane season on its way, we are excited to announce that Nola Readywill be re-launching our Nola Ready Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in June. Spots are limited, and as someone who has either volunteered for NOLA Ready in the past or shown interest, we wanted to give you the first opportunity for registration. Through a mix of classroom sessions and hands-on activities taught by emergency managementprofessionals and first responders, the comprehensive 2 day NOLA ReadyCERT training program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area. It trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, community disaster support, team organization, disaster medical operations, first aid, city assisted evacuation, sheltering, and more. NOLA Ready CERT volunteers help to prepare their neighbors and communities for different types of disasters, as well as support first respondersand community disaster partners in response and recovery efforts. If you are passionate about emergency preparedness and disaster response andrecovery in your community, this free training is for you! Spots limited, register asap!
