Join Prescription Joy at the Fortress of Lushington on June 19, 2018 at 7:30pm for a Community Health Talk on Concussions. Hosted by Dr. Jose H. Posas III, a well known and established Neurologist in the New Orleans area. The talk will include the science of concussions, warning signs, treatment and other relevant information pretaining to this all-too-common and very misunderstood injury. All are welcome! Concessions will be avaialble for purchase. BIO: Dr. Jose Posas is a graduate of the medical school at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.
He did his residency training at University of Miami in Neurology where he was a Chief Resident in his final year there.
He was the inaugural Sports Neurology follow at Kerlan Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles, California.
He has been practicing Sports Neurology focusing on concussions and posttraumatic headaches at Ochsner Baptist in Louisiana in since 2014.
The he is engaged at the national level with the American Academy of Neurology in the Healthcare Disparity Task Force for 2018 and is a graduate of the Diversity Leadership Program with the American Academy of Neurology in 2017.
He is passionate about reducing unconscious bias towards women and racially and ethnically diverse patient populations and healthcare providers.
