Beth Gambel, Area Nutrition Educator for the LSU AgCenter, will present �Diabetes Awareness� at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, at the River Ridge Library, 8825 Jefferson Highway, River Ridge. This event is free of charge and open to the public. There is no registration. Diabetes is a group of diseases characterized by high blood glucose levels that result from defects in the body's ability to produce and/or use insulin.
