On March 8, the Dillard University Concert Choir Annual Spring Concert will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church at 5 p.m. Known for its illustrious legacy and impeccable vocals, the Dillard Concert Choir is directed by Professor S. Carver Davenport, who is in his 44th year as director. In the past year, the Concert Choir received recognition from media outlets WDSU and WWLTV for their outstanding performances. For the spring concert, the Dillard Concert Choir will perform signature selections such as, Roland Carter's Lift Every Voice and Sing, In Bright Mansions, and Wilhousky's Battle Hymn of the Republic. Soloists will be featured throughout the concert programs as well as the Dillard University Female Octet and Male Quartet. Each year, students from all over the country come together to form the Dillard University Concert Choir. Since 1935, Dillard’s Concert Choir has developed a brilliant and staggering reputation. The thriving and rich musical heritage at Dillard University continues to enhance the cultural lives on its campus, in the community, and around the country. The concert is free and open to the public.
