More Info

There's a fabulous dinner to be had in every neighborhood (if not every corner) of New Orleans, but an intimate cooking lesson and 3-course feast with Chef Frank Brigtsen? That's something special. Considered one of New Orleans' foremost chefs of Creole cuisine, Frank is also a natural-born teacher and a total hoot. Pull up a seat to his chef's table and learn to make three of his specialties, with plenty of time along the way for questions and quips before we sit down to feast at the family dinner table. Class is capped at 16 guests so you'll feel like you're at a holiday dinner party with old friends, and you'll walk out with Frank's tips, tricks, and printed recipes to recreate the entire experience for your own awe-inspired guests at home. Menu: Crab & corn soup Shrimp étouffée and "perfect rice" (no, really, it's perfect) Banana bread pudding with pecan praline sauce About the Instructor Before Chef Frank Brigtsen and his wife, Marna, opened Brigtsen’s Restaurant in 1986, he cooked at Commander’s Palace and K-Paul’s, where he earned his stripes as a master of New Orleans cuisine. Since then, he has won a James Beard Award as Best Chef: Southeast and been named Chef of the Year by New Orleans magazine; more recently, in 2016, Brett Anderson named Brigtsen’s one of the Top Ten Restaurants in New Orleans. Chef Frank shares his passion and expertise through teaching and has led cooking classes for over 15 years. (He’s NOCCA’s inaugural Chef-in-Residence!)
