Dwight was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. Musical studies began at age nine as a classical pianist. His training continued through high school as a jazz piano student of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA). After graduation, Dwight enrolled in the University of New Orleans' Jazz Studies program where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in jazz piano performance under the instruction of renowned jazz pianist and educator Ellis Marsalis. During his years at UNO and following, Dwight has worked professionally on the New Orleans music scene with artists such as Nicholas Payton, Kermit Ruffins, Irvin Mayfield, Victor Goines and Jeremy Davenport.
