Come and learn how to make paper out of single use plastic and sugarcane as well as recycled paper and bamboo. Workshop led by Longue Vue’s 2019 artist in residence Hannah Chalew. Participants will hear from Chalew about her art, solar cart installation and how to make “Zen” paper step by step before returning it to its basic components**. Gloves and aprons will be available; please be aware you will be working with your hands, outside so dress comfortably and in clothes/shoes that you don't mind getting wet. Participants are asked to think about their own use of single-use plastics and encouraged to bring samples for shredding into the paper-making process. **Due to the time needed to allow paper to dry pre-made paper sheets will be used for drawings and to take home.
