NOCCA's Theatre Design department offers a four-week virtual class in fashion design for students in 8th-11th grades. There's no audition to enroll--this class is open to all ability levels. The registration fee for this class is $20.00 and covers all class meetings. The class will meet virtually from 4:30pm-6:00pm on January 12, 14, 19, and 21. The class will be hosted on Google Meet, and a link will be emailed to all confirmed participants. Students are asked to commit to all class meetings. ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP Students will learn the fundamentals of fashion design through the rendering and sketching process. Students will also: * Explore the history of fashion design. * Experience the design process. * Explore different parts of the fashion industry. * Learn to find inspiration and express it in their designs. Students should have drawing paper and pencils as well as items for coloring (colored pencil or markers preferred). A limited number of financial aid discount codes “FINAIDTD” (released on a first come, first served basis) are available to families whose student is eligible for free/reduced lunch at their school. Participation in this workshop does not guarantee admittance into any regular program offered by NOCCA. The workshop fee is non-refundable once the session begins on the first day of classes.
