Hunter was born & raised in New Orleans’ richest musical communities, eventually becoming a trend-setting performer at the famous Café Brasil on Frenchmen St. for over a decade prior to Katrina. Ben has performed locally and nationally for the past 20+ years, with 7 studio albums recorded in New Orleans, Jamaica, and L.A., winning several esteemed awards and honors as a modern New Orleans’ legend. As a New Orleans Reggae King turned New Orleans Afro-Caribbean Folk Music Creator, Ben showcases original songs that explore the city’s true culture through his lived experience. Born and raised between Tremé and the 7th Ward, music naturally pervaded Ben’s life. His authentic and easy reflection on New Orleans' culture is even more vital in the city's changing times.
