The Hôtel de Pontalba was later purchased by Baron Edmond de Rothschild. Today it is the residence of the U.S. ambassador to France and is a showcase of Franco-American cultural connections from Benjamin Franklin to the Baroness de Pontalba to Charles Lindbergh.
