JeffCare, a program of Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority, is providing free COVID-19 walk-up testing for the Jefferson Parish community. Testing will be conducted by medical personnel in tents outside JeffCare Health Center sites in Metairie and Marrero during October and November. All community members aged one year and older will be welcome on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. No appointment is necessary. People should bring identification and health insurance cards if they have them, but no one will be turned away. This testing is made possible by Health Center Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding from the Health Resources & Services Administration.
