Hosting Organization: French Quarter Business Association Link: The FrenchQuarter Business Association invites individuals and groups to volunteer on Saturday, October 20, 2018, to help rid public spaces in the French Quarter of graffiti. The cleanup will begin with check-in at 9 the courtyard of the New Orleans Police Department’s Eighth District, 334 Royal Street and will end with a post-cleanup lunch generously provided by Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts. All those passionate about making the French Quarter graffiti-free should sign up and be a part of this fun and worthwhile event. With the tools and instructions in hand, volunteers spread out through the French Quarter and remove as many graffiti marks as possible. Volunteers receive a work t-shirt (while supplies last), all cleaning products and tools for the cleanup, and the post-cleanup lunch and refreshments. Register online at as an individual or group. The event and supplies are generously sponsored by NCIS: New Orleans. Producer Randy Sutter is thrilled for a chanceto give back to the neighborhood where so many NCIS: New Orleans scenesare filmed. Their benevolent contribution will provide the gloves, rags, scrappers, scouring pads, t-shirts and Vieux Carre Commission-approved cleaning solution. NCIS New Orleans representatives will be in attendance. The French Quarter Business Association, along with other French Quarter groups, implemented the Vieux Carre Graffiti Abatement Program (VC-GAP) in the summer of 2010. VC-GAP hopes to eradicate illegalgraffiti from the structures in the French Quarter. The graffiti problemis not as insurmountable as once presumed and VC-GAP is working to helpthose victimized by offering information and solutions. This neighborhood beautification effort is just one of the commitments VC-GAP is makingthe community.
