We welcome Maestro Wilkins to the Orpheum stage for this special performance featuring Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, “New World” which will mark the beginning of his tenure. Led by newly-appointed Principal Guest Conductor, Thomas Wilkins, the LPO invites you to experience a fascinating journey into the cosmos with Sukkot Through Orion’s Nebula, written by Morgan State University professor James Lee III. The program will be enhanced with the imaginative and insightful fingerwork of guest artist, Louis Schwizgebel. Louis, a classical pianist hailed for the clarity of his playing, guarantees a performance of Florence Price’s Piano Concerto in D minor that is both detailed and rich in colour.
