Beecher Memorial UCC Quilt Group, Just Wanna Quilt Podcast hosted by Elizabeth Townsend Gard out of Tulane University Law School, and Efforts of Grace (Ashé Cultural Art Center). Four of the women of the Gee's Bend Quilters Collective are coming to New Orleans December 4th through 9th, 2018
for a quilting workshop at Ashé Power House, 1731 Baronne St, New Orleans, LA 70113. In conjunction with the workshop we will have a local quilt exhibit November 30th through December 9th, curated by the Beecher Quilt Group, also at
Ashé Power House. (the public is invited to this showing, no charge) All registrants will receive a complete supply list and a request for special dietary requirements prior to the start of the workshop. You will bring your sewing machine and some scraps to use and share as you experience the teaching style of the ladies of Gee's Bend. A pop-up shop will be available each day of the workshop for additional fabric purchases. Three-day workshop fee is $300 per person and includes lunch each day. You will receive an email along with your supply list requesting any special lunch requirements. For those visiting from out of town we will be happy to recommend accommodations. There are numerous hotels and Air B&B listings in the area. Please come and enhance your knowledge of African American Quilting through the ladies of Gee's Bend and the Beecher Memorial Congregational UCC Quilt Group. Our policies for all classes and workshops sponsored by Uptown Needle & Craftworks include:• Full payment is due upon class registration. If you prefer to pay by cash or check your registration is not confirmed until payment is received.• All class fees are refundable if cancellation is made by telephone or email at least 14 days prior to workshop start date.• No refund or transfer of funds for cancellations with less than 14 days notice or if you fail to show-up for a class you have registered and paid for.* Depending upon each participant’s skill level, you may or may not complete your project in class.
