Jason Marsalis is the youngest son of pianist Ellis Marsalis and the famed New Orleans Marsalis jazz family. He is a respected drummer and vibraphonist, whose 2014 release, "21st Century Trad Band" on Basin Street Records, moved swiftly up the national jazz charts. Tonight, his father, celebrated jazz piano patriarch and revered community music teacher, sits in as special guest with Jason's quartet, a combination of local players who've collaborated with both Ellis and Jason, as Ellis passes the torch on what was his long-running Friday night residency at Snug Harbor to his youngest son. The Marsalis Quartet tonight features: Jason Marsalis - drums Jason Stewart - bass Ricardo Pascal - saxophones Stephen Gordon - piano Ellis Marsalis - guest pianist
