The New Orleans JCC invites the community to tune in for its annual fundraiser, Center Celebration: JCC’s Big Night In presented by the Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust on Saturday, November 1. New Orleanian, Broadway star, and actor Bryan Batt will host a dynamic assemblage of talent including: Anika Larsen | Appeared on Broadway in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (for which she earned a Tony Award nomination), Xanadu, All Shook Up, and Rent, to name a few. Tarriona “Tank” Ball | Slam poetry champion, lead vocalist and frontwoman of Tank and the Bangas, winners of the 2017 NPR Tiny Desk Contest and 2020 Grammy Award Best New Artist nominees. Cantor Azi Schwartz | Senior Cantor of Park Avenue Synagogue in New York and world-renowned vocal performer and recording artist. Azi has performed at Carnegie Hall, the United Nations, Madison Square Garden, the US Capitol Rotunda, the Israeli Knesset, and for Pope Francis. James Andrews | Trumpeter and vocalist with the nickname "Satchmo of the Ghetto," James hails from a musical family. He is the grandson of Jesse Hill and older brother to Troy Andrews, most commonly known as Trombone Shorty. Dganit Daddo | Acclaimed Israeli performer known for her Ladino songs and mix of traditional Jewish and contemporary Israeli music. Also, performances by Alix Paige, Jennifer Theriot, Leslie Castay, Max and Charlie Carver, and MORE! Tickets are available at NOJCC.org/bignightin. The cost is $36 per individual or $72 per household. To accompany the event, JCC teamed up with St. James Cheese Company for a specially curated cheese plate paired with sparkling wine. A portion of sales will benefit the JCC.
