Raw Fruit is a collection of stories that reveal the essence of ancestral values that have been woven into the cultural fabric of our lives. This work examines the legacy, identity, socialization, unity, and friction inside the black family dynamic exposing the impact of race, class, gender, and sexuality on maternal relationships, and reveals how the retention of cultural values, morals, and taboos have shaped our current existence. These influences are explored through dance, theater, and photography in order to illustrate lineage, retention, and history. Raw Fruit practices progressive choreography and innovative multi-disciplinary works that lie at the intersection of dance-theatre and social justice. About KM Dance Project KM Dance Project aims to present progressive choreography and innovative multi-disciplinary works that lie at the intersection of dance, theater, and social justice. It is our intention to enhance the public's appreciation of dance rooted in experiences of the African Diaspora while exposing issues of community responsibility and empowerment.
