The Greater New Orleans Iris Society will be co-hosting the 2020 Louisiana Iris Day with Longue Vue House & Gardens on Thursday, April 9th from 4 PM until 7 PM in the Wild Garden there. Join us for this annual event to view these beautiful native plants while they are in bloom and to honor the pioneering Louisiana naturalist and artist who fought for their conservation, Caroline Dormon (1888-1971). Mingle with local plant enthusiasts while enjoying live music and refreshments. Explore the magnificent collection of irises in Longue Vue's one-acre Wild Garden among plants selected by Ms. Dormon herself! See the wonderful reproductions of Caroline Dormon prints on display in the Flower Arranging Room of the house. A video from last year's event can be seen here: https://www.facebook.com/GreaterNewOrleansIrisSociety/videos/429275727830891/ The event and free and open to the public, but we kindly suggest a $5 donation to help with Longue Vue's maintenance of the house and garden.
