The Rapp Anderson Quintet is co-lead by two dynamic players, trumpeter Mark Rapp and Alto saxophonist Wess "Warmdaddy" Anderson. Trumpeter, composer, arranger, didgeridoo player, recording and touring artist Mark Rapp has performed with diverse artists from jazz saxophonist Branford Marsalis to country music star Darius Rucker. In 2009 his debut release album earned him a spot as one of the "Top 25 Emerging Trumpeters" in Downbeat Magazine. He also became a featured artist in Mellen Press' "How Jazz Trumpeters Understand Their Music" along with Terence Blanchard, Lew Soloff, Freddie Hubbard and Dave Douglas. Wess Anderson got his first big break when Wynton Marsalis asked him to join the Wynton Marsalis Septet, where he stayed for over a decade. Together, these two horns of plenty put out a CD earlier this year entitled "Natural History".
