Rolf VanAnders, Mind-Body Wellness Program coordinator and Mindfulness Trainer,will demonstrate the principles of Meditation and Mindfulness for Health and Wellness. This events is free of charge and open to the public. Rolf VanAnders says that bringing mindfulness to any activity transforms it into a kind of meditation. He says that practicing mindfulness has been proven to help people relax, lower blood pressure, boost the immune system which can optimize health and well-being while enhancing concentration, awareness, learning, memory, cognitive performance, social intelligence, emotional balance, creativity and problem-solving abilities. The daily practice of mindfulness exercises can bring people happiness and elevated quality of life. Rolf VanAnders is on staff at the LSUHSC Medical Center as a mind-body fitness coordinator and program design, personal trainer, and instructor in the field of mindfulness-based stress reduction as mind/body medicine and wellness exercise. Rolf is also a graphic artist, writer, interior designer and landscape artist.
