Naked On The Floor is the flagship group of New Orleans based composer, Jonathan Freilich. Freilich has developed a language for structuring improvisations through the juxtaposition of anomalous musical information occurring almost as non-sequiturs amidst the prevailing familiar information. Freilich has worked as a sideman and a leader for some of New Orleans most notable music projects since his arrival here in 1989. As a leader: The New Orleans Klezmer All Stars, The Naked Orchestra and this band, all playing continuously for 20 years. As well as that, he has worked with a list of great New Orleans performers ranging from Henry Butler, to Kermit Ruffins, 007, Alex Mcmurray, and many points in between. He has arranged music for projects from U2 to Basque legend, Fermin Muguruza. The current band features some of the cities finest- James Singleton-bass; Rick Trolsen-trombone; Dan Oestreicher- sax; and the mystery guest. Representatives of bands from Trombone Shorty to Professor Longhair. Great composers and leaders, all. Purchase Tickets
