The New Orleans Ballet Association will hold virtual auditions for its nationally award-winning NOBA Center for Dance Pre-Professional Program on Friday, Sept. 18. This tuition-free program provides motivated students ages 8 to 18 with intensive instruction in ballet, pointe, modern, repertoire and other dance forms, and unprecedented opportunities to study with world-renowned artists through the Master Artist Series. Fall in-person classes will be held weekly between September and November 2020 at NORD partner locations, and virtual class options will also be available. Winter/spring 2021 schedules will be confirmed at a later date. At least two years prior dance training is recommended prior to auditioning, and a parent/guardian must complete an online audition registration form. Auditions for the 2020-21 academic year Pre-Professional Program will be held virtually on Zoom, on Friday, Sept. 18 at the following times: Friday, Sept. 18, 2020 Ages 8-11 5:30-6:30 p.m. Audition Ages 12-18 6:45-7:45 p.m. Audition Through the Master Artist Series, students train year-round with local and visiting artists and are offered unique opportunities such as classes with NOBA Main Stage artists, performances on local and national stages, talent-based scholarships to attend prestigious summer dance programs (i.e. American Ballet Theatre and The Ailey School), and tickets to NOBA Main Stage performances.
