Come, meet, and mingle with indigenous artists and culture bearers of New Orleans! Introducing New Orleans Diaspora Cultural Collective, this event is to garner funds for the collective's 2018/2019 programming centered on the artistic contributions of the indigenous people of New Orleans (Louisiana) to the cultural economy.
Set for spring of 2019, NODCC’s culminating multimedia production entitled:
Bricks, From the River to the Bayou is envisioned to recount the history of Africans descendants in New Orleans. Entertainment, featuring The Ceasar Brothers Funk Box, will include an art walk presented by students of the collective, live music and dance performances by Chakra Dance Theatre and Societe Minokan, Kumbuka African Drum and Dance Collective, Greer Mendy of Tekrema Center for Arts and Culture, and Nkafu Traditional African Dance Company.
