SEMINAR: �Compassion Fatigue: Preventive Strategies As a caring profession, nurses often give of themselves so much that they experience compassion fatigue. Compassion fatigue is detrimental to the individual, coworkers, employer and the patient. This program is aimed at providing strategies to prevent compassion fatigue and to overcome it if it occurs. Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, the learner should be able to: 1. Describe compassion fatigue as it affects nurses. 2. Explain factors that contribute to compassion fatigue. 3. Formulate strategies for the prevention of compassion fatigue.
