Sal Serio, curator of the American Italian Research Center at the East Bank Regional Library in Metairie, discusses Ellis Islands Comes to the Port of New Orleans, at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 23 at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie. The New Orleans Lifelong Learning Cooperative presents one of its programs, the New Orleans History Reading Group. NOLLC is a life-long learning community offering cultural and educational enrichment. Following in the footsteps of the historical Lyceum and Chautauqua, we are a volunteer effort, drawing on the resources and life experiences of our members to offer classes, programs, discussion groups, and events throughout the city. Topics include, but are not limited to, philosophy, literature, history, science, the environment, the arts, and the culture of New Orleans.
