NOMA Reset: Enso Painting Workshop

New Orleans Museum of Art
Getting there
1 Collins Diboll Circle, New Orleans, LA

Join NOMA for a new series of virtual workshops that focuses on mindfulness, creativity, comfort and reflection. NOMA Reset programs provide a much-needed infusion of relaxation and wellness by engaging our collective and individual wellbeing.   In Zen, ensō is a circle that is hand-drawn in one or two uninhibited brushstrokes to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create. The ensō symbolizes absolute enlightenment, strength, elegance, the universe, and mu (the void). It is characterized by a minimalism born of Japanese aesthetics.   This workshop will be led by Rose Bratcher who is an ensō painter and a monk at the New Orleans Zen Temple. Participation in the virtual program is free for everyone, and participants will need to provide their own supplies.   REGISTER HERE   Suggested Materials Sumi Brush  Sumi Ink  Sumi Paper  The above links show offerings by Blick Art Materials.
