Join us for one of Odyssey’s five art- and musical-themed evenings exclusively limited to 80 guests each night. Guests will begin with cocktails, passed hors d’oeuvres, and a special curatorial tour, or an art or artist spotlight led by one of NOMA’s top curators. Guests will then enter the New Orleans Museum of A rt’s newly renovated Courtyard to enjoy themed music and a fabulous three-course seated dinner by Ralph Brennan Catering & Events. Funds raised through Odyssey provide crucial general operating support to NOMA, allowing us to serve our community with art, educational and programmatic initiatives, retain staff, and create innovative virtual content. Themes, Dates and Times o   Friday, November 6 – New Orleans Jazz SOLD OUT Guests will be invited to explore connections between jazz and the making of contemporary photographs in New Photography: Create, Collect, Compile with curator Russell Lord. Curator Katie Pfohl will discuss the influence of jazz upon Modernist painter Stuart Davis. Learn more about contemporary potter Roberto Lugo’s commission for NOMA pairing depictions of Louis Armstrong and hip-hop recording artist Lil Wayne with decorative arts curator Mel Buchanan. o   Friday, November 13 – Sinatra and Swing SOLD OUT o   Saturday, November 14 – Sinatra and Swing SOLD OUT Photography curators Brian Piper (November 13) and Russell Lord (November 14) will discuss the work of renowned photographer Herman Leonard, including his portraits of Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, and other legends of the swing era. Decorative Arts Curator Mel Buchanan will share background on a sleek cocktail cart designed for early commercial air travel. Curator Ndubuisi Ezeluomba will discuss adornment in African art. o   Thursday, December 3 – Studio 54: Warhol and Disco LIMITED TICKETS REMAIN o   Friday, December 4 –Studio 54: Warhol and Disco SOLD OUT Get an exclusive look at Andy Warhol’s “Little Red Book” with photography curators Russell Lord (December 3) and Brian Piper (December 4) . Explore art’s power to heal in the exhibition Mending the Sky with curator Katie Pfohl, and, of course, celebrate NOMA’s portrait of Mick Jagger by Warhol. 7–7:30 pm: Cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a curatorial tour/spotlight 7:30–10 pm: Enjoy a three-course, seated dinner with wine, cocktails and themed music in the newly renovated Courtyard Tickets for each themed evening are first come first serve with an 80-person capacity limit for each evening. NOMA will adhere to all local and state mandates. In the event of a resurgence of COVID 19 in the late fall, NOMA will make every effort to reschedule Odyssey dates. In the case that we are unable to reschedule, your ticket purchase will be considered a 100% tax-deductible donation to NOMA. Tickets are nonrefundable.
