Awaken your child’s imagination, creativity and impetus to BUILD in our Ogden Museum After School Art Club! This session is dedicated to looking at and making artwork inspired by three-dimensional sculptural forms from the exhibition, Built: Sculptural Art from the Permanent Collection, and two-dimensional works from Preservative Force: Recent Acquisitions to the Collection. Students will use a range of materials from sculpey clay, natural organic materials and even strange objects from around the home to construct four outstanding sculptural works of art together. During each weekly class, Museum Educator Mikhayla Harrell will be live on Zoom to guide kids through deep art observation, critical thinking, art making procedures and mindfulness practices. Students will create an amazing portfolio of artwork which they will be proud to share at home and in an online exhibition presented at the end of the session. Before the session begins, each student will receive an Art Box with all the supplies needed for the session. If located in the Greater New Orleans area, the Art Box of supplies will be delivered to the address listed on the registration by the club start date. Out of town shipping is available for an additional fee. After you register, you will receive 2 emails: a virtual ticket and an email containing a Zoom meeting link. If you do not receive the email, please make sure to check your junk folder. Questions? Email education@ogdenmuseum.org.
