Photography for the Insane: New Orleans Street Photography! Costs covers entry for the walk and optional sessions only. Meals, drinks, and room and board are not included. ***No refunds due to the cost of the workshop*** ***Limited Slots*** On Saturday, 4/13/2019, RTCP will be offering a one day photograph workshop and walk on street photography in the beautiful city of New Orleans. As an added feature, if you want to arrive early, there will also be a session for an introduction on street photography on Friday evening and a follow-up for photography critique on Sunday morning for those staying! Mark Shuman will be the lead for this workshop. Mark, a Santa Fe based photographer, supported us on our trip to Santa Fe. Mark has recently completed the photography portion of his book to be titled, "Homeless in a Land of Plenty." New Orleans was one of his destinations and is less than a day drive for most of our Texas members. Many members have asked for New Orleans as a destination since starting the Insane walks. Mark's street photography work can be viewed at: His homeless documentary work can be viewed at: Password: Homeless2019 Here's our itinerary: 4/12/19 (Optional) - We will meet for dinner at the Palace Cafe at 6:00 PM, where Mark will cover an introduction to street photography with us in a casual dinner environment. The dinner will be interactive, and you may ask questions, bounce ideas off of Mark, and ask Mark and others for specific help you would like to receive during the walk on Saturday. During Saturday, 4/13/19 - We will generally be covering these areas in the French Quarter: Poydras Street, including Lafayette Park, Bourbon Street, St. Ann Street, including Louis Armstrong Park and Jackson Square, and the riverfront between St. Ann Street and Poydras Street. 4/13/19 / 9:00 am - We will meet in the lobby of the Crown Plaza Hotel on Canal Street, where we will split into groups of 2-4 each. Mark will work with individual groups during the walk. 4/13/19 12:00 - We will meet at the Creole House, where we will have lunch and discuss our morning experience. 4/13/19 1:30 - We will continue our walks in groups of 2-4, with Mark working with each group and providing insight and assistance where needed. 4/13/19 6:00 pm (optional) - We will meet for dinner and discuss our experiences. Location for dinner to be decided by group consensus. 4/13/19 (optional) - For those that want to continue shooting, we will photograph some night life of New Orleans. 4/14/19 (optional) 10-noon - For those that travel with laptop or larger devices, you can load your photographs on your devices before 10:00 am and Mark can provide feedback and critique on your favorite images…depending on the number of participants you may be limited to 3-5 photographs.
