Three titans of the ivories come together for their annual showdown. Marcia Ball was described in USA Today as "a sensation, saucy singer and superb pianist... where Texas stomp-rock and Louisiana blues-swamp meet. Tom McDermott's playing is encyclopedic, referencing everything from 19th Century composer Louis Moreau Gottschalk through ragtime, early jazz, brass band, boogie woogie and the eclectic post-WWII R&B of Professor Longhair and James Booker. He has written songs and arrangements for a variety of settings, including music for the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and co-founded the genre-defying New Orleans Nightcrawlers Brass Band. Joe Krown is known by many as Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown's longtime sideman. Joe Krown has forged his own path in recent years, exploring the realm of organ-fueled funk but also as an excellent pianist. He has a vast knowledge of the great boogie woogie piano players and draws from this material for his solo performances. On each show each artist will play solo, then they get together for a six handed finale.
