Brimming with catchy songs and engaging stories that bring renowned musician Siama Matuzungidi's rural Congolese culture to life, this hands-on program features Siama's spirited singing, masterful guitar, and captivating traditional African instruments like mbira (thumb piano) and balafon (marimba) while his wife Dallas tells stories and encourages everyone to sing along in Kikongo, Lingala and Swahili. The journey culminates with kids playing shakers and jumping around in a fun dance party. Sponsored by the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library. ( More )
