Small Talk: Portrait of Père Antoine with Docent Pat Loughran

New Orleans Museum of Art
Getting there
1 Collins Diboll Circle, New Orleans, LA

Small Talks are ten-to-fifteen-minute gallery talks focused on one object or a small group of objects. These brief informal sessions enrich the visitor experience and allow visitors to learn more about works of art in NOMA’s permanent holdings as well as those on view in temporary exhibitions. Wednesdays are FREE to all Louisiana residents courtesy of The Helis Foundation. Join Docent Pat Loughran for a discussion about the c. 1810 portrait of Père Antoine, a former Catholic religious authority who served New Orleans from his arrival in 1774 through the French, Spanish, and American territorial periods of Louisiana in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.
