Delgado announces their latest production: the classical comedy, Tartuffe by Moliere, translated by Richard Wilbur. Tartuffe opens Wednesday, October 2, 2019 in the Timothy K. Baker Theatre, 615 City Park Ave, Building 1. The production will run one week only: Wednesday, October 2nd through Sunday, October 6th. The curtain times for Wednesday-Saturday performances are at 8:00 p.m., and the Sunday matinee on October 6th is at 3:00 p.m. (closing performance.) For additional information, call 504-671-6616. Synopsis: Tartuffe, a fraud and a pious imposter, has succeeded in winning the undying devotion of the wealthy Monsieur Orgon. However, when Tartuffe plots to marry Orgon’s daughter, seduce his wife, and steal the deed to his property, only a miracle can save the family from certain ruin. The production staff includes Costume design by Cecile Casey Covert and Shelby Lynn Marie Butera, Scene design by James Means, Lighting and Sound design by Tom Dawson. Tartuffe is written by Moliere, translated by Richard Wilbur, and directed by Kris LaMorte. The play will be performed by students from Delgado’s Theatre Program.
