Join instructor Sara Martin at Longue Vue to work on your poetry writing. This is a workshop for young poets who are curious about new techniques to frame your writing and different ways to approach this craft. We will discuss what poetry means to us, what we think poems can do in the world and how we’d like to grow as poets. Participants will be given three different writing prompts, the opportunity to share their work and will be asked to offer feedback to other poets. Sara Martin has a MFA in poetry from Iowa Writers’ Workshop. She has taught creative writing at the University of Iowa, Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand and other institutions. Her work has been published by Patient Sounds Press, Turbine and The Seattle Review. $20 for non-members, $15 for members. Strict minimum and maximum numbers apply to Longue Vue programs and workshops. A program or workshop may be cancelled or postponed if the number of attendees is less than the minimum number of attendees required. Longue Vue reserves the right to cancel a paid program or workshop due to unforeseen circumstances. If this occurs, confirmation will be sent to confirm that the program or workshop is being cancelled or postponed. A full refund or transfer to another program or workshop will be available.
