The Ritz-Carlton

Drink like a local in our bartender's refuge at The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans The Atomic Pop-up serves as an oasis to relax and recharge, as well as a place to share with fellow bartenders a special partnership between Marriott International and 2018 James Beard semifinalist Feizal Valli, who was displaced by Hurricane Katrina. The collaboration is a recreation of his award-winning bar in Birmingham, AL, where some of Marriott’s top bartenders from across the globe, will
serve up creative cocktails and stories from their own experiences behind the bar. RSVP here… MORE… Longtime New Orleans resident Feizal Valli ended up in Birmingham
to stay with friends during Hurricane Katrina, having nothing but a fuzzy white rabbit costume in tow. “Birmingham, for me, is a place that gave me a home when I couldn’t go back to mine,” says Valli. “It was the locals who made me feel like I was one of them from the day I arrived - and that’s really all anyone wants. And that’s something we try to do at The Atomic.”
Similarly, the once-bustling restaurant and bar at The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans also closed due to damage from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Together, Marriott and Valli will transform the space for a limited time back into a place of hospitality and creativity during the largest gathering of cocktail and spirits industry professionals at Tales of the Cocktail. “After the storm, they were handing out these stickers that said ‘Be a New Orleanian, wherever you are.’ And that’s what I’ve tried to do,” Valli says. With that spirit in mind, join us at The Atomic Pop Up to experience Valli’s chic, retro-mod décor (living room couch included), table games, soap bubbles cascading from the ceiling, and more of his distinct brand.
And obviously, as you might expect from a guy who owned a fuzzy white rabbit costume, there will be costumes – a banana, Big Bird, a gecko, and anything in between. -Cocktails designed by some of Marriott Internationals
