The Louisiana Museum Foundation in collaboration with the Louisiana State Museum, at The Cabildo, cordially invites you to a take glimpse of the legendary Baroness de Pontalba. Limited engagement - only 3 Thursday night performances starting on August 1, September 5 and concluding on *October 3. Featuring the recipient of two Big Easy Awards, performing artist Diana E.H. Shortes, brings to life her original solo work "The Baroness Undressed." Offering a unique portrayal of the unbelievable true story of New Orleans own Micaela Almonester, better known as the infamous Iron Bird of Paradise:The Baroness de Pontalba. This incarnation of Ms. Shortes' one-woman show will immerse the audience in a musical soundscape, melding recorded sound with live accompaniment while The Baroness, fashioned in her 19th century boudoir, dresses - then undresses - revealing her encounters with subjugation, tragedy, triumph and eventual self-realization.
