The Fortifiers are a fun rocking blues and roots music band from New Orleans. Formed in 2016, their instrumentation features harmonica, keyboards, guitars, bass, and drums. The Fortifiers are inspired by and perform the songs of Slim Harpo, Lazy Lester, Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson, Allen Toussaint, and Tony Joe White among others. Their shows also feature numerous original songs in the repertoire. They have performed shows at the following events and venues: The Crescent City Blues and BBQ Festival, Freret Festival, French Quarter Festival @ House of Blues Stage, Gretna Heritage Festival, Instruments-a-Coming, Voice of the Wetlands Festival, Tipitina’s, Lakeshore Landing, Rock n Bowl, Chickie Wah Wah, Howlin Wolf, Bamboula, Vaughan’s Lounge, Allways Lounge, Circle Bar, and Café Atchafalaya. The Fortifiers backed up Grammy winner Bobby Rush at OffBeat’s 2017 Best Of The Beat Awards and were nominated for Best Blues at Gambit’s 2018 Big Easy Awards.
